Perfect Air Fryer Rib Eye Steaks

Get a solid healthy dinner on the table in minutes using an air fryer. These little machines are amazing. Haven’t used our oven since we got one for Christmas. It’ll be nice on those hot summer days when I don’t want to take the risk of starting the grill up.

Thaw your steak out the day before in the fridge. Make sure to put it in a bowl or plate to catch the myoglobin (that’s the official name for that red stuff we see on our plates when the meat is cooked rare, med rare. It’s not blood.)

2 hours before you’re ready to eat, bring the steak to room temperature. Remember to put it up high so the dogs and cats do get into it.

Sometimes people salt their steaks at this time but we don’t. It makes for a dryer steak because the salt will pull the moisture from the meat. Instead, we salt right before we cook it.

20 minutes before you’re ready to eat, start your air fryer and set it to 400F degrees.

Set the time to 18 mins

Salt and pepper both sides of the steak

Cut up a handful of mushrooms and onions or whatever else you like. Some folks will do cabbage, leeks, and even celery

When the timer hits 13 mins place the steak on the rack and place it on the top-notch. Continue to cook till the timer hits 7 minutes

While waiting melt some butter and pour over veggies and place them on a rack.

When your timer gets to 7 minutes flip the steak and put your veggies in the air fryer on the middle notch.

Set the table and pour a nice big glass of raw milk

When the timer is done remove the steak and veggies

Serve up and enjoy.

This recipe is for rare steaks. For medium steaks cook for 15 mins. For Well cook for 17 mins. Make sure to preheat for 5 mins prior to cooking.
